El Salvador: Day 1

At 2:30 AM today, our team met at the church ready to load onto the shuttle bus and head out for El Salvador. But right away God wanted to let us know that we were to rely fully on Him during this trip.

The shuttle bus wouldn’t start, so we decided to caravan to the Omaha airport in several cars. We made it in plenty of time and enjoyed coffee and breakfast together.

Our layover in Atlanta was less than an hour, and we had to hustle to make it to the gate before the doors closed. We made it and even had time for a bathroom break.

When packing, we didn’t think we’d have any supplies to bring to the Salvadorans. We ended up bringing 5 suitcases full of supplies.

He will provide.

God brought us here safely. Tonight we are staying in San Salvador, the country’s capital city. After arriving at our beautiful hotel, we went out to eat pupusas, a delicious dish made of tortilla, cheese and beans. It is fun to see how God is already developing our relationships.

I am thankful for safe travels, the way my teammates share God’s love, and for a bed after a long day. God is taking great care of us, and we know that He will continue to provide.

Peace and blessings,
The Sheridan Lutheran El Salvador Mission Team
